Designing a smarter platform to support sales, recruitment, and long-term brand growth
Ashtead Technology is a global subsea services company supporting the offshore energy sector with advanced equipment and expertise. As the business expanded, its website was no longer keeping pace. It lacked clarity, felt dated, and wasn’t supporting the needs of customers, partners, or potential recruits.
I led the UX design and collaborated closely with the team to develop a responsive, ecommerce-enabled platform that made it easier to browse, filter, and enquire about a large and complex rental catalogue. The goal was to remove friction, highlight capability, and better communicate the company’s scale and value.
The visual experience played a key role. I art-directed a bold new look, including a suite of CGI imagery that placed Ashtead’s equipment in realistic subsea environments. We introduced an interactive subsea diagram to showcase service depth and coverage, along with motion graphics and infographics to help simplify technical content. A refreshed careers section helped bring the culture to life and support recruitment.
The result is a faster, clearer, and more engaging platform that supports both day-to-day operations and long-term brand positioning. It reflects Ashtead’s ambition, builds trust with users, and lays the foundation for future growth.
