Belfast Waterside, built on the former Sirocco Engineering Works site, stands as one of the largest remaining development opportunities in the city centre.
The redevelopment aimed to regenerate the old engineering works and unite both east and west banks of the river by constructing a bridge. This would transform the site into a modern local community hub, featuring a large outdoor amphitheater and other amenities.

The client sought a visual brand identity that reflected the ambitious architectural plans and conveyed a sense of community coming together.

Two overlapping circles symbolised strength and unity, while a single line stroke resembling an infinite loop represented the river’s continuous flow. The circles were capped with right angles, representing the new structures rising from the ground on both sides of the river, now connected by a flowing bridge. The design evokes a handshake-like gesture, symbolising the bridge’s role in connecting the two banks.
“Today Belfast is the beating heart of Northern Ireland and it’s poised to drive unprecedented economic opportunities and investment to communities.”
